August Monday boatrace over the
years has turned into a St. Maarten/St. Martin
celebration as much as it is Anguillian. Scores of
people come aboard yachts to join locals assembled
on the beach in an afternoon of frolic, social
interaction and display. The afternoon is sandwiched
between a morning of J'ouvert and an evening beach
party. In the background you should see lights of many vehicles streaming down Sandy Ground hill destined for the beach at about sunset. |
